CS2 Crosshair Guide: Codes, Commands and Pro Stats
Your crosshair is the one thing you look at every second of a match. This guide explains how CS2 crosshair codes work since the September 30, 2026 update, which console commands control each setting, and what the pros on ClutchCrosshair actually use, based on their real match demos.
How to import a crosshair code
- Copy a code, for example from a pro crosshair page.
- In CS2, open Settings › Game › Crosshair.
- Click Share or Import, paste the code and confirm.
Since the CS2 update of September 30, 2026, codes start with CS (without dashes). Old CSGO-xxxxx codes can no longer be imported.
What crosshair do CS2 pros use?
These numbers are computed from the crosshairs of every pro on ClutchCrosshair, read from official match demos. They update every time a new demo is added:
| Setting | What pros use | Share of pros |
|---|---|---|
| Color | green | 39% |
| Style | Static (cl_crosshairstyle 4) | 96% |
| Length | cl_crosshair_length 2 | 71% |
| Thickness | cl_crosshair_thickness 2 | 61% |
| Gap | cl_crosshair_gap 1 | 53% |
| Center dot | No dot | 91% |
| Outline | No outline | 96% |
| T-style | Normal (with top line) | 100% |
Based on 70 pro crosshairs read from official match demos. Browse them all on the CS2 pro crosshairs page.
The crosshair console commands
| Command | What it changes |
|---|---|
cl_crosshair_length | Length of the lines, in pixels |
cl_crosshair_thickness | Thickness of the lines, in pixels |
cl_crosshair_gap | Space in the center, in pixels |
cl_crosshair_screen_height | Screen height the sizes are made for |
cl_crosshairstyle | Static (4) or dynamic crosshair |
cl_crosshaircolor_r | Custom color, with _g and _b |
cl_crosshair_drawoutline | Black outline for visibility |
cl_crosshairdot | Center dot |
cl_crosshair_t | T-style (no top line) |
Here is a typical small static pro-style crosshair you can paste in the console:
cl_crosshairstyle 4
cl_crosshair_length 2
cl_crosshair_thickness 2
cl_crosshair_gap 2
cl_crosshair_drawoutline 0
cl_crosshairdot 0
cl_crosshaircolor_r 0
cl_crosshaircolor_g 255
cl_crosshaircolor_b 255
cl_crosshaircolor_a 255How to choose your crosshair
- Color: pick one that contrasts with every map. Cyan, green and yellow are the most popular for a reason.
- Size: a small crosshair is precise but can get lost in smokes and flashes; a slightly longer one is easier to find.
- Gap: keep it small so the target's head stays visible between the lines.
- Static: a crosshair that never moves (style 4) gives you a constant reference, which is why almost every pro uses it.
The easiest way to test is our CS2 crosshair generator: it shows your crosshair at real size on a CS2 map, in your resolution, and gives you the code. You can also start from any pro crosshair and tweak it.
